TODOROFF wine cellar was established in 1945 and was nationalized two years later. The descendents of the original owners recieved the cellar in the restitution process and Mr. Ivan Todoroff bought it from them in 2001. The refurbishing of the cellar was completed within a few months and the production of the first batch of wines started in the autumn of 2001.

TODOROFF wine cellar is the first boutique cellar in Bulgaria which paves the way for a new style in wine making.

The 2001 vintage wines are the first wines from the new cellar and enter the world ranking of French oenologists “1000 wines of the world”.

We strive to disseminate knowledge about the culture of wine, create unique products, and approach wine lovers in a very distinctive way.

TODOROFF’s message – Wine & Art – is our tribute to the development of Bulgarian culture. It provides an inimitable flair to creating new values while bringing tradition to the fore and harmonizing it with the present day business practices in a matchless manner.

The cellar is located in the heart of the Thrace region, in the capital of Bulgarian wine, in the village of Brestovitsa – only 140km from Sofia and 14km from Plovdiv.

The Thracian region is emblematic of the Bulgarian wine production. It is characterized by a temperate continental climate with a uniform distribution of rainfall during the growing season and with many sunny days a year, which contributes to the quality of grapes ripening.

The root-forming soil layer is very deep and its nutritional, thermal, water and air regime is excellent for cultivating quality varieties.

The winery specializes in the production of red wines from the Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Marselan and traditional Bulgarian grapes Mavrud.

White wines of Muscat, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as Rose, are produced in parallel.

TODOROFF Winery has 35 hectares of its own vineyards located in the Thracian Valley.
